Luke Wright is one the UK’s most successful stand-up poets. With a combination of witty accessibility and a mean acerbic streak Wright entertains audiences at comedy clubs, music festivals and literary readings.
In 2000 he formed live poetry collective Aisle16, who have since become one of the most sought after live acts in the country. Their last show Poetry Boyband was named Time Out Critics’ Choice of the year 2005.
Wright also has a successful solo career. He is the 2002 Glastonbury Slam Champion and in 2004 starred in BBC3 Slam Poets. This summer he took he debut solo show, Luke Wright, Poet Laureate to Edinburgh where it earned four and five star reviews across the board and has been snapped up for a 2007 tour.
“Wright surely has the rhyme and reason to take the art form to previously unchartered heights.” The Herald
